A bit of a leap from my usual DA stuff. This is a maquette sculpt based on my character design for Leto II from Frank Herbert's novel God Emperor of Dune. The drawing on the book behind him is my concept sketch.

This is friggin' GLORIOUS.

The God Emperor of Dune was easily my favorite of the entire series. :D

By far the best interpretation of the Tyrant that I have seen thus far. I love your incorporation of the sandworm teeth in the headdress; the entire piece is much more organic than other artists' takes on poor Leto.

Where are the follow up photos. I REALLY want to see how this one is going to turn out.

Interesting and well done! It's good to see, as another commenter mentioned, a more biologically realistic take on Leto. I like the care you've taken in the anatomical details here.

My favourite character, and my favourite book in the series.

Thanks so much! I'm glad the anatomy was successful... I wanted him to still look awe-inspiring without being a sugar-coated perfect god... 'cuz let's be honest, he had to be a mess.

I love The God Emperor too. When I started it I wasn't sure if I'd like it since its so far off from the first three... but then I fell in love. Thanks for commenting!

I really love this. I've been waiting for someone to produce some more biologically-believable designs for Leto on the net, and now there are! I love the character, and had done my own concept for hima little hwile ago-- check it out and compare:

Aww man, thank you so much! So good to hear from someone who knows the character and has given his design a little thought. ;D I think I saw your drawings before, not sure where though, and they rock! I tried to deviate a bit from the other examples of Leto I'd seen out there... so thanks for noticing! :D

I just love Dune, and it's always awesome to meet another fan!
